Yesterday Obama said in an interview that he was "sorry" that his Obamacare Law had caused so many people to loose their insurance coverage. I'm having trouble believing that he is really sincere, but I will accept his apology at face value. But what is an apology to those who are suffering through the debacle that is being heaped upon the American People? Certainly not enough.
If he actually is beginning to see that the law that was passed
(crammed down the collective throats of the American People by a partisan Democrat legislative maneuver) over three years ago is the reason for all the angst and suffering that we are beginning to see develop across the nation, then why should he limit his action to a simple, verbal, apology? Why not DO something that is substantive and meaningful, that WILL actually take the burden off those who were happy with what they had and the doctors that they were using? Maybe give in to the calls for repeal of the Law?
And where are the Republicans? Wouldn't now be a good time to ponce on the President for continuing to push his miserable mess upon the American People?
I think we can all do a little something to help.
Among these are letters to your congressional representatives. If you live in a state where you are represented by Republicans, you will probably just be preaching to the choir, so to speak, but your letters, faxes and phone calls of support for their efforts will help to keep them motivated to action and possibly vote the right way when an effort to clear all this up finally comes.
Another thing that many of us can do is write letters to the editors of our newspapers opinion page. I know it doesn't sound like much, but a couple of paragraphs that register your disgust or displeasure with the events that are literally tearing this country apart could have an impact on the readers of your local paper and maybe spur them to take action as well.
I'll make an offer to anyone who is interested in writing to your newspapers' editor... and that is, if you will do it, I will provide you with the email address of the editor. I just happen to have such information on over 1200 different editors around the country. If you are interested, just send me an email to
bill@billreid.info and tell me which news papers in your area that you are interested in writing to, and I'll get you the information that I have as soon as possible.
If we all take a little time and make the effort, I know we can make a difference. But we have to do it and we have to do it now.
